Meet Your Celebrity Instructor - Ashish Vidyarthi


Ashish Vidyarthi was born to a Malayali father and a Bengali mother from Rajasthan in Delhi, India (June 19, 1962).

His mother Reba Vidyarthi was a Kathak guru, and his father Govind Vidyarthi works for the Sangeet Natak Academy, collecting and archiving India's fading performing arts. 

He attended the National School of Drama until 1990, after which he joined N. K. Sharma's Act One theater company. 

He relocated to Bombay in 1992. (now Mumbai).

His first film, Drohkaal, was released in 1995, and he won a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for it. 

In the film Sardar, based on Sardar Vallabhai Patel's life, Ashish played V. P. Menon. 

He is well known for his part in 1942: A Love Story as Ashutosh. 

For the 1996 film Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Ashish won the Star Screen Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role.

Vidhyarthi has appeared in nearly 300 films in 11 languages. 

He is the co-founder and curator of AVID MINER Conversations, which are tailored interactive modules for businesses.
