Meet Your Celebrity Instructor - Aditi Govitrikar (Biography in Nutshell)
Aditi Govitrikar is an Indian model, actress, and doctor who the only Indian supermodel with both a medical doctorate and a psychology degree from 1997 to 2004.
The Hindustan Times has named her "Beauty with Brains."
She is a devoted Vipassana practitioner and a vegetarian.
In 2009, she competed on Bigg Boss as a contestant.
Govitrikar won the Gladrags Mega-model Contest in 1996 and Mrs. India in 2000, before going on to win Mrs. World in 2001.
Mrs. World is still held by Govitrikar, who is the first and only Indian woman to have received the title.
Govitrikar first tried her hand at acting when she appeared in Thammudu (1999), a box office smash.
Her film Paheli (2005) was succeeded in India's official entry in 79th Academy Awards. De Dana Dan (2009) received International Indian Film Academy Award.
She also starred in several extremely famous music videos, including Adnan Sami and Asha Bhosle's Kabhi to Nazar Milao (1997), Jagjit Singh's Aaeena (2000), and Anu Malik's Baarish Ho Rahi Hai.
In 2020, she hosted the Zee Zest show Mother's Care.
Govitrikar founded PETA in India and has promoted several high-profile worldwide brands, including Coca-Cola, Chopard, Fendi, and Harry Winston.
She went to Barns High School in Panvel and graduated (MBBS) from Grant Medical College (Mumbai-1997).
She began her MS in Gynaecology and Obstetrics after completing her MBBS, but she was unable to complete it due to her involvement in the modeling industry.
After winning the Gladrags Mega-model Contest in 1996, she began her modeling career.
In 1997, she also won the Asian Super Model Contest's best body and best face awards.
She modeled for corporations including Kaya Skin Clinic and Pond's, as well as participating in commercials like as her famous Coca-Cola commercial with Hrithik Roshan.
Govitrikar has continued modeling and has played minor roles in many Bollywood and South Indian films after winning Mrs. World in 2001.
She has appeared in the Hindi television series Ye Meri Life Hai as well as reality shows such as Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi, hosted by Akshay Kumar in 2008, and Bigg Boss (Season 3), hosted by Salman Khan in 2009.
Arzoo Govitrikar, Aditi's younger sister and an electronics engineer turned actress, was a judge on the show Kalakarz.
Aditi recently completed a postgraduate course in counseling at Tata Institute of Social Sciences and an IGNOU master's degree in psychology.
She is pursuing a second master's degree in psychology at Harvard University.
